Town 1 - 1 Macclesfield

Mariners fans outnumbered their Macclesfield counterparts at the Moss Rose as Town had Parkinson in for Junior Mendes in the only change to the team that kicked off last week's game against Cheltenham.

After one minute Reddy went to the by-line, but his cross was intercepted, and in the next attack brought in Goodfellow, and he started a period of Town pressure ending in Parkinson trying a shot which struck a Macclesfield defender. There was more pressure from the Mariners in a great start to the game, and Town then won a free-kick 10 yards outside the area, but Reddy's flick-on went behind.

Croft and Woodhouse found Gary Jones, and he brought in Michael Reddy, and Town then played the ball around before former Mariner Alan Fettis collected.

Croft won a free-kick for handball, and everyone went up for the cross, before Macclesfield tried to break away, but it was back with Reddy who crossed into the box, with no end result.

Navarro had the first proper shot of the game forcing Mildenhall into a save after 12 minutes.

Marcus Richardson had an opportunity on the edge of the Town box, but stumbled as he lined up for a shot, and then Whittle was on the end of a cross, back-headed towards the far post but no-one had gambled on the move.

Town won a corner after some good work from Gary Croft. The ball was played all round as Town exerted pressure on the bumpy pitch, and then Michael Reddy won a second corner for the Mariners, taken by Curtis Woodhouse, and Rob Jones met the ball cleanly but put it a couple of feet wide.

Mildenhall took Town's next free-kick close to the halfway line, where former Town man Paul Harsley cleaned up.

Macclesfield won a corner, and Bolland headed the ball away, but Macclesfield put the ball back in, before Town managed to get it out again.

Town won another free-kick 18 yards out, Woodhouse delivered but Whittle's free-kick was collected by Fettis.

After 27 minutes Rob Jones was replaced by Ben Futcher with an apparent groin injury.

Town won another free-kick just outside the box, Woodhouse floated it towards Whittle and Futcher, but as it was played out Parkinson hit the ball goalwards from the centre of the D and as it was deflected out Town won the corner.

Mildenhall was forced into a great save after 33 minutes when Miles struck the ball. The ensuing corner was cleared by Town upfield.

Town won a corner off Paul Harsley, and Futcher's header was ruled out for a push by the giant defender.

Gary Jones

Goal!: 39:44: Goodfellow crossed the ball and Gary Jones headed home into the far corner!

Goal! 42:22: All square 3 minutes later as Richardson headed home.

Macclesfield put in a long throw cleared by Futcher, and then Croft intercepted a Miles shot, and then Futcher headed away for a corner.

Half-time: Town 1 - 1 Macclesfield

There were no further changes at half-time.

Parkinson won a corner after a well-directed header by Futcher. Woodhouse took the corner, and Jones shot flew wide.

Macclesfield won a free-kick and the shot seemed to be deflected onto the base of Mildenhall's post.

Bolland clipped in the ball, and McIntyre headed to safety. Cohen played the ball in and Futcher's header looked to be diverted out for a corner, but the referee awarded a free-kick.

Crofty's next free-kick found Reddy, and Woodhouse and Goodfellow interchanged but lost the ball until Cohen retrieved the situation.

Parkinson lifted the ball in, it was cleared to Goodfellow who put the ball back in but there was no-one there, and then further concentrated pressure resulted in a Town corner. This time Woodhouse's corner was put out for a second-successive corner, and after a spell of Town pressure the ball went out for a goal-kick to the home side.

Macclesfield substituted Miles for Martin Bullock after 59 minutes.

Gary Jones lifted to Reddy, then to Parkinson whose cross to Gary Jones was headed over by Town's scorer coming in from the left.

As Town started bossing the game, Reddy won a free-kick, clipped in by Woodhouse, but Swailes headed away, picked up by Parkinson to Reddy and Whittle's header was over the top.

The ball was lifted forward and in a race between Fettis and Reddy, both missed the ball and it went out for a goal-kick to Macclesfield.

Reddy got past his man, and pulled it back to Parkinson but a defender just beat him to it.

The long throw broke to the edge of the box and Goodfellow looped his shot over the bar.

Reddy was substituted by Mendes after 68 minutes.

Futcher conceded a corner after 70 minutes, taken by Harsley and everyone missed the ball with Bolland getting it away for another corner that Gary Jones cleared.

Goodfellow got in a good shot after a nice piece of interchanging, and Fettis was forced into a diving save.

Cohen then tried a long shot straight at Fettis.

Macclesfield's next corner was headed away by Woodhouse.

Cohen then won the ball and again shot, but again it was just too high.

Macclesfield had two great chances in seconds before winning a corner, and Mendes stepped in and controlled the ball.

After 78 minutes, Goodfellow was replaced by Ciaran Toner as Russell Slade made his final change.

Woodhouse forced a great save from Fettis, and Town played it round before Fettis was forced into a second save in 10 seconds.

Jones won a corner, delivered by Woodhouse into the side-netting.

Whittle found Mendes, then Woodhouse and Croft, but Fettis claimed the cross.

Three minutes of added time was signalled.

Town won a throw taken long by Crofty, Whittle went into the box, but Macclesfield broke, and Macclesfield won a corner with one minute of added time remaining.

Mildenhall hit forward, and Mendes went into the area but Fettis claimed and the whistle sent.

Full-time: Town 1 - 1 Macclesfield
