Gary Jones

Jones - back in squad

Wycombe kicked off, with the Town stands full, but it was Parkinson who hit the first shot over the bar after just 27 seconds of the game after being set-up by Paul Bolland.

Parkinson and Gary Jones had been brought in for Martin Gritton and Gary Cohen.

In the Wycombe side was Tommy Mooney who always seems to score against the Mariners.

Betsy fired one in after beating Tom Newey. Mildenhall was able to collect comfortably.

Jones played the ball to Parkinson, Betsy robbed him and fed Mooney who back-heeled and almost beat his own man. Francis then went through and played to Toner but this time Oakes intercepted, and it was Oakes who had the next shot with Mildenhall again saving comfortably.

Bolland played the ball to Parkinson who hit the ball to Francis and as he shot the near post played diverted the ball for the game's first corner. Newey delivered well to Rob Jones, with the ball going for a goal-kick.

Goal!: (10:11) A good move by Betsy found that man Mooney unmarked, and he nodded the ball past Mildenhall, for the first goal that Town have conceded in the first half for 20 games.

Mooney could have doubled his and Wycombe's score another 2 minutes later. The Chairboys were on fire in the first quarter of an hour.

Francis was back defending as Wycombe piled on the pressure. Reddy and Parkinson broke clear, and was disappointed when the referee failed to give him a free-kick for what appeared a clear foul.

Reddy got past his man, and when the ball came across Francis nodded the ball down but Wycombe scrambled it away.

Reddy won the ball, but a disputed handball was given against Reddy whilst he was on the floor.

There were ironic cheers for the referee as he awarded Town a throw.

Town won a free kick near the halfway line, and when it came out to Francis his cross was put out for another corner, which was collected by Lonergan, who launched it all the way to Mildenhall.

After 29 minutes, Francis fired in a good strike after good work by Reddy and McDermott, but the ball was down the throat of Lonergan.

Mooney then flicked a first time shot just over the bar as he met a cross from Senda.

A deflected shot after a corner found Steve Mildenhall flat-footed, but the ball was just wide, and when Torres blasted the ball Macca intercepted and Reddy raced away, but Wycombe came out on top, with Reddy back in looking for the ball 20 seconds later as Lonergan beat him to it.

Macca went outside his man and won a corner as the left-back tried to shepherd the ball out. There was a great scramble as the ball was cleared off the line.

Booked

Francis went on a run, but Bolland's poor ball was intercepted, and Rob Jones was booked after missing both the ball and the man.

Reddy got an elbow in the back of the head, but Referee Deadman waved play on as Town had the advantage with Parkinson who was knocked off the ball.

Newey took the free-kick on 42 minutes, and when the ball came back to him, he played it in and Reddy fired in a shot after outrunning Senda.

Macca & Barry Fry

Disputed booking upset Town fans

McDermott was booked after more than a minute of added time had been played, with the referee awarding a throw-in to Wycombe.

Half-time: Town 0 - 1 Wycombe

There were no changes at half-time.

Francis got in a header from a Reddy cross after 47 minutes, but he couldn't get any power behind it and the keeper collected comfortably.

Francis went through with a great run, but just as he was about to pull the trigger he went over, with the Referee not interested in awarding a penalty.

Torres had the ball in the back of the net with a diving header but the linesman's flag had been up well-before the ball crossed the line.

The linesman gave a free-kick when Reddy was elbowed out of it, with Newey playing the ball in to Whittle whose hooked volley was tipped onto the bar by Lonergan. The following corner was scrambled clear before Macca's cross was nodded out for another corner, and then Town played the ball all round again.

Whittle put in a great header, but Referee Deadman mystified the Town fans when he awarded a free kick to Wycombe.

It looked as though Jones had scored on 60 minutes when Reddy and Francis got away, and Francis' cross found Jones in front of goal.

Simon Ramsden

Macca was replaced by Simon Ramsden after 64 minutes.

Bolland put over an in-swinging corner, but it was cleared to the halfway line, where Ramsden found Newey, and Whittle had the ball taken off his head.

Reddy had yet another great run and when he found Gary Jones, the ball got stuck under his feet and the chance was lost.

Town had another chance a minute later through Ciaran Toner but he missed the target.

On 70 minutes Jones was replaced by Gritton, and Francis was replaced by Gary Cohen.

When Oates went down Referee Deadman waited for him to get up before booking him.

Paul Bolland

Bolland was booked after 75 minutes.

Cohen won the ball back in the box after an appeal for a handball, won a corner, which the keeper missed, and after it was played back in Mooney shepherded the ball out.

Reddy brought a great save from the keeper after collecting the ball from a Parkinson throw. The corner was met by Jones who got in a good header, then the Mariners won a free-kick as they piled on the pressure.

The Mariners won a throw on 85 minutes near the flag, and sent the big men up. Ramsden took it to Newey to the far side, and when the shot came inform Bolland it was hit off the line with the keeper beaten all ends up!

Ramsden hit long, Reddy chased and Town won another corner, with only Toner back. The driven corner was headed away, and then it was collected by the keeper with Rob Jones playing up front. Betsy got past Newey and Mildenhall brought off a great save from Mooney.

Reddy won yet another corner, which was headed out, and a fantastic save by Lonergan denied Reddy, and the corner found Jones who hit the bar.
