A great fighting performance saw Town do the double over Notts County, and be one of three level-pegging teams at the top of the Division, to set up the key derby with Boston next Saturday.
With injuries dictating changes, Slade had Cohen at right-back, Newey at centre-half, Mendes up front, and new man Goodfellow coming in for his debut.
Before five minutes were up Reddy was put clear, beat his defender but he recovered to slot the ball out for a Town corner. The Mariners kept the pressure on, during which time Reddy went down in the box, and with Woodhouse taking the corners, Grimsby gained a second corner that was eventually cleared by County.
Bolland played forward to Reddy, Woodhouse got onto the end of it, and went down but referee Singh wasn't interested in a Town penalty.
Futcher conceded a free-kick just outside the D and straight on to goal, and Dadi hit the wall, with Mildenhall collecting.
Reddy was near the corner flag, and when the ball was played to Goodfellow he pushed it just too far.
Woodhouse took Town's next free-kick, but nothing came of it and the action transferred to the Town end immediately with Crofty sorting things out.
Mendes was onside as the ball was played forward, but the ball was taken off his toe-end before he could cross for the waiting Reddy.
Mildenhall lifted a free-kick towards the goal, though the referee saw an infringement by a Town player.
Bolland was booked after 24 minutes.
When the free-kick was fired in, the massed ranks of the Mariners fans appealed for a handball from a County player, but referee Singh awarded a corner instead, which saw Town gain a free-kick. Reddy then went down off the ball at the other end, and though the Town man looked to the referee to award something for being pulled back, the official was again not interested.
Reddy got on the end of a long ball, and when the ball was cleared it came out to Goodfellow who struck a good shot from 30 yards.
Edwards put the ball over when he came in to meet a cross at the far post after DeBolla had made a long run.

Goal!: 39:57 Newey put a lovely ball across to Reddy, and with Town's first shot on target beat the keeper with a fierce strike for Reddy's 12th of the season! It was the third game in a row that the Irishman had given Town the lead.
County gained a fortunate free-kick as the clock entered time added on, and the kick went over.
Town were furious with the referee when he gave a corner to the home side, claiming the ball had clearly gone out as County crossed into the centre, but there was no need to worry as the set piece came to nothing.

There were no changes at half-time, and after just 40 seconds a delightful clip to Mendes from Reddy produced the first chance of the second period.
Wilson went down pole-axed after having his shirt pulled, and when the Notts County player suddenly 'recovered' he shot up and went over to confront Reddy. Reddy was booked. Wilson saw yellow too.
County won a corner as play restarted, and Dadi settled for a second corner, and that was headed behind by Reddy, for a third successive corner, and this time Crooks fouled Reddy.
Edwards was the next County player to have an opportunity but his shot was diverted out for another corner, and as it came over the referee held up play to have a talk about pushing and shoving.
Croft found Reddy, and the Town man settled for a throw-in. Croft got to the by-line and won another throw.
Reddy found Goodfellow, and his shot was deflected by a County hand which yet again did not impress Mr Singh.
Reddy won another corner on 61 minutes, and while the teams waited for the corner Baudet was pushed away by the Town frontman. After a long delay the game restarted and as Futcher headed the ball Baudet went in on Futcher who rolled over clutching his head. Mr Singh gave nothing, as the game came to boiling point.
Town won another corner, as Reddy showed a lovely piece of skill.
Town conceded a corner on 69 minutes, and before it was taken County substituted Needham with Scoffham, and Goodfellow dashed away to relieve the defence but didn't find a good final pass.
Goodfellow found Mendes, who gained a throw which didn't produce anything.
Dadi had a great opportunity after 72 minutes, sliding in with the goal at his mercy, but he missed the chance.
Goodfellow then raced in, put the ball onto his right foot and hit a rising shot just over the bar.
Substitute Scoffham got past Woodhouse, and the new Town man stopped him illegally to gain a booking. When Baudet headed the ball forward Mildenhall somehow retrieved the ball from between his legs.
On 78 minutes, Town brought on Parkinson for Goodfellow.
Town tried to bring on another substitute as a corner was being taken, but couldn't get the referee's attention.
Reddy raced forward onto a great ball, but was adjudged to have handled the ball. As the kick was about to be taken Barwick replaced Bolland.
There was a great opportunity for Mendes with him being one on one with Pilkington but the keeper won the race.
Town won a corner as Baudet went in on Reddy.
With 4 minutes to go, Town had a concerted attack before the ball went out for a home throw, but the Mariners had used up valuable time. Then Parkinson got into the box before the ball went harmlessly past the County goal for a goal kick.
Town gained a free-kick when Baudet fouled, and again nothing came from the kick.
As the clock went into added time, it was Town on the attack as 3 minutes was indicated.
Baudet took Reddy from behind, to give Town a set piece, from which the ball went harmlessly out, and then County were caught offside.
Mendes turned his man and found Barwick near the corner flag then Mendes again found Barwick, Reddy and Mendes near the corner.
County gained a goal-kick with 5 seconds to go.
