On 27 minutes the home side replaced Marriot with Rayner between the sticks.
Ex Mariner Martin Gritton almost connected with a flick on but Boshell was on hand to tidy up.
On 39 minutes, Toner's shot was deflected wide for a corner. From the flag kick, the ball was cleared off the line from Gary Jones' shot and scrambled away.
Bore should have done better with an effort just before the break, and Rayner pulled off a superb save to deny Danny Boshell from close range.

Town continued to pose questions of the City defence in the second half with Bore having a 58th-minute effort blocked on the line by Cryan.

On 74 minutes, Bore was replaced byTonyThorpe as Town looked to avoid the dreaded penalty shoot-out.
Frecklington became the first player to be booked on 84 minutes after a late challenge on Danny Boshell.

1-0 Ciaran Toner stepped up to take the first penalty and fired it high into the net
1-0 Forrester's penalty was straight down the middle and was saved by Barnes
2-0 Newey came up to take the third, and blasted it straight down the middle into the net.
2-1 Martin Gritton knocked in Lincoln's first
3-1 Thorpe sent the keeper the wrong way to make it 3-1
3-2 Frecklington stepped up to make it 3-2, sending Barnes the wrong way
4-2 Boshell stepped forward to make it 4-2
4- 3 Stallard sent Barnes the wrong way to make it 4-3
5-3 It was left to Ricky Ravenhill to try and win it for Town. He stepped up and fired the ball high into the Imp's net.
