THE club have decided not to take part in a professional and semi-professional pre-season tournament in Devon this summer.

Club officials have visited the area and the decision has been taken that the Mariners will not be involved.

The eight-team tournament will include a Crystal Palace X1 side, Hereford United, Blue Square Premier outfit Torquay United, Kidderminster Harriers (Blue Square Premier), Eastleigh (Blue Square South), Clevedon Town (British Gas Southern Premier) and host club Bideford.

Town boss Alan Buckley is already planning for the 2008/ 2009 pre-season and has already pencilled in games against Barnsley, Scunthorpe United and Gainsborough Trinity.
