Justin Whittle, who will depart the club after four years at Blundell Park in the summer, talks to us about his team-mates.

Who has the best/ worst taste in music?

The best has to be Ciaran Toner. He likes all kinds of stuff and is really into his music. So much so that he plays guitar and piano, well he is Irish, so he loves all that stuff. I wouldn't be surprised to find him in a band when he finishes playing football, but he never gets to play guitar on the team bus, because the gaffer never lets him!

As for the worst well that is straight forward. The gaffer has the worst by some distance. All we ever catch hi listening to is Chris Rea and that is awful. We told him how bad it is but he doesn't seem to take notice.

Who's the best player to have in the trenches?

There are two I would pick for this one and they're both midfielders who love to get stuck in. Paul Bolland and James Hunt would run through brick walls for our club. They want to win that badly and when things start getting physical, they always love it.

Who's the best/ worst trainer?

I hate to say it but Rob Atkinson is the worst trainer. Let's just say effort springs to mind when I picked him. He just never seems to put any in on the training ground. It is a good job he saves it all for match days. At least that's what he tells everyone.

The best trainer is Paul Bolland. He trains the way he plays. He's never still for a minute and always puts everything into every session. A top pro!

Who's got the best/ worst dress sense?

Peter Till is a young lad who always has his finger on the fashion pulse. He knows what is going on and knows what the youngsters are wearing right now. So he is always pretty sharp. So he has to be the best dressed at the club..

The worst is simple, that has to be retro Jamie Clarke. If you want anything from the 70s or 80s, then he is your man. He's still wearing FILA tracksuits. I am surprised that we haven't found a VW car badge hanging around his neck at some stage.

Who's the most intelligent?

They say defenders are not the brightest, but Gary Montgomery shows that is not the case at this club. He is an intelligent lad and always has his head in a book. He is always reading and he is the sort of bloke you want in your side in a quiz. Ciaran Toner is quite a clever bloke too and you would want him on your side.

More from Whitts on Friday.
