Clarke was Alan Buckley's first summer signings in 2007, signing a one-year deal from with the club.
The versatile player can play in several positions in defence or midfield and will be a valuable asset to Town boss Alan Buckley during the 2007/ 2008 campaign.
Clarke was known by assistant boss Stuart Watkiss and given his big chance by Watkiss at Mansfield.
He later moved to Rochdale before a move to Boston.
Played against the Mariners twice last season for the Pilgrims and looked for a move away from York Street after their well documented off the field problems.
