Much is expected from young defender Ryan Bennett, who was promoted to the first team squad at the end of last season.
Joined the Mariners from Ipswich Town. The first-year YT impressed all season with his displays at centre half for the Youth and Reserve sides. Ryan is a talented player, who is strong in the air, and likes the ball to feet. He is calm under pressure and is a good leader on the field.
The Grimsby Town management have high hopes for Ryan in the future and he was rewarded with a two-year professional contract on his 17th birthday in early March.
Ryan has since made his first team debut at Milton Keynes, and went on to make four further first team appearances.
